In 2018, FPInnovations announced the creation of the FPInnovations Training and Research Support Fund at Université Laval’s Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics (FFGG). Under the agreement between the two organizations, FPInnovations will annually pay installments of $50,000 to this new fund over a 10-year period, for a total of half a million dollars.
The purpose of the Fund is to enable the Faculty to attract top student talent by awarding scholarships and providing financial support for student projects, such as internships as well as participation in science education activities and research projects carried out by FPInnovations. The Fund will also serve as start-up funding for new researchers from the University recruited in the fields covered by the agreement.
