From April 2 to 4, the Quebec government’s Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs will present Carrefour Forêts 2019, a unique event bringing together the main players in Quebec’s forest sector. FPInnovations is pleased to be actively involved in the event, which will take place at the Centre des congrès de Québec under the theme ‘From Knowledge to Value Creation.’
Come and visit our booths
FPInnovations invites visitors to learn more about its research projects and initiatives at the different booths set up. First, a corporate space (Booth 204) will provide visitors with an opportunity to find out about the organization’s mission and its various components as well as employment opportunities in cutting-edge sectors.
Three theme-based booths will also be set up to promote key initiatives, such as Forestry 4.0, also referred to as the Industrial Revolution of the Forest Sector (Booth 506), the SM2 or smart and agile manufacturing Initiative (Booth 508), in addition to numerous projects relating to the adaptation of forest operations to climate change (Booth 507). Many experts will be on hand to give you further details.
Gustave-Clodomir-Piché poster competition
FPInnovations is pleased to be a funding-partner of the Gustave-Clodomir-Piché university poster competition, which will recognize the best scientific posters presented by graduate and post-graduate students. The competition will reward two winners who will each receive a $2,500 scholarship—one of which will be awarded by FPInnovations. In addition, a people’s choice award will be presented to the creator of the poster who receives the most votes from visitors to the Espace de la recherche et de l’innovation during the Carrefour. Guyta Mercier, Industry Advisor for FPInnovations’ Forest Operations sector, will be a member of the jury in charge of determining the best posters and will present the award on behalf of FPInnovations.
Carrefour Forêts 2019 will be presenting a wide range of seminars on various aspects of forest operations and the efforts to combat climate change. Here is an overview of the seminars (to be held in French) in which members of FPInnovations will be taking part:
