Over the past ten years, there has been a proliferation in the use of LiDAR for engineering, and forestry applications. The successful analysis of these projects requires an in-depth understanding of LiDAR and its advancements to produce the most effective topographic maps.
On November 21, the EGBC (Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia) is hosting a webinar on the use of airborne LiDAR in forestry. Dr. Azadeh Koohzare, an experienced LiDAR project manager working at McElhanney Consulting Services, will be reviewing all the components involved in a forestry LiDAR project – from flight planning to quality assurance of deliverables.
The talk will include several examples of forestry projects, and will also discuss how new higher pulse rate systems can bring benefits to forestry applications. LiDAR processing examples will be from the software packages TerraScan and Global Mapper.
