FPInnovations is proud to announce that some of its employees were honoured during the PAPTAC Awards ceremony:
Javad Saberian, Senior Scientist, received PAPTAC’s Jasper Mardon Award for Best Papermaking Paper
The purpose of the Jasper Mardon Award is to recognize an important technical accomplishment in advancing the science and technology of papermaking described in a paper presented at a PAPTAC meeting. Over the last years, Javad has been active in PaperWeek and PACWEST conferences to promote FPInnovations expertise. He has also acted as a member of the steering committee of PAPTAC’s Papermaking Technology Community. Javad’s winning paper is entitled “Améliorer l’efficacité de la machine à papier en réduisant les variabilités au bout humide”.
A paper published by Talat Mahmood, Research Leader, and Allan Elliott, Scientist, is selected for the Douglas Jones Award this year
As for the Douglas Jones Environmental Award that Talat and Allan received, it is conferred for the best paper in the field of environment improvement presented at a PAPTAC meeting. The paper is entitled “Novel Approach to Recover Products from Ash”.
The PAPTAC annual meeting has taken place during PaperWeek Canada, the annual conference of the pulp and paper industry in Canada, week of February 5 – 8, 2018 in Montreal at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel.
